The Power of Vegetables

Growing up, your parents may have always told you to eat your vegetables. Although some of those selections weren’t very tasty, vegetables have an added benefit that can keep you in tip-top shape. Why are vegetables so healthy? Here are a few reasons why:

Vegetables have been known to reduce the chances of stroke, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and other illnesses.

Vitamins
Vegetables contain vitamins, minerals and lots of fiber that all help keep your body regulated, working properly and feeling energized.

Weight Loss
Vegetables can help you lose weight, as they are low in fat, sodium, carbs and calories. They provide nutrition while keeping your weight in check. There are a number of recipes you can invent with vegetables, and they quickly add a new taste to your meal.

Variety
Vegetables come in all sizes and colors. There is a huge selection to choose from, and they can be eaten in all forms – juiced, dried, canned, frozen or fresh with the same benefits.

Taking the time to add a few vegetables to your daily routine can work wonders. When eaten raw, you get even more of the nutritional value they have to offer. Carrots, celery and grape tomatoes are delicious and can be transported wherever you go for a quick snack.

There are a few recommendations on which vegetables to eat the most that will give you the best benefits:
  • Broccoli

  • Tomatoes
  • Garlic
These four are called super foods, because they deliver over and beyond ordinary benefits. It is recommended to eat at least one to four cups of vegetables each day. Vegetables are probably one of the safest and healthiest food choices you can eat every day and maintain your daily regimen. By eating certain amounts of vegetables, you feel full, obtain the nourishment you need for your body, and learn how to eat a little more healthy.
